RunOut is a remake of the classic Sega car game OutRun.
As you might be able to work out if you are of a certain age, RunOut is a remake of the classic Sega car game OutRun.
RunOut is an old-fashionned arcade racing car game. You drive your Ferrari Testarossa through dense traffic to win the race. In RunOut the objective of the game is simple, you have to drive as fast as you can to get to the time checks before time runs out. Once there you get bonus time to continue playing. It is pure arcade fun with a map editor included (as a hidden bonus), a digital soundtrack, doppler effect, you can add your own music files to the autoradio (MP3, OGG, XM, S3M, IT, ...), it's extremely customizable and system friendly so it can be played in a stretchable window or in fullscreen mode, OpenGL is supported, and the software renderer is also included for low-end computers.
Graphically this RunOut game isn't brilliant, mainly because it sticks closely to the original, and also sticks to the playability. This RunOut program is very easy to download, install and then use, through its friendly and intuitive user interface. You don't need any technical experience at all to get the most out of it.
